Work has begun on commissioning the second hydroelectric unit at the Kambarata HPP-2

A key stage in the implementation of the Kambarata HPP-2 project has begun in Kyrgyzstan, with preparatory work underway for the commissioning of the second hydroelectric unit. These activities mark the transition of the project to the main stage of construction and installation work and effectively signify the project's entry into its active phase.

The work is being carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and is of strategic importance for the development of the energy sector and improving the reliability of the national power system.

The preparatory activities include a range of technical and organizational work necessary for the subsequent commissioning of the second hydroelectric unit. As part of these measures, a technical inspection of hydroelectric unit No. 2 and the compensator of hydroelectric unit No. 1 has already been carried out with the participation of contractors and engineering consultants.

At the same time, work has been completed on preparing construction sites and creating infrastructure for the permanent presence of personnel. The foundations for the contractors' office and residential buildings have been concreted, and the installation of metal structures, including load-bearing elements and roofing systems, has begun.

The project is being implemented with financial support from the Eurasian Stabilization and Development Fund, and technical supervision is being provided by the international company Fichtner GmbH & Co. KG.

Following international tenders, contractors have been selected for all three lots: lots No. 1 and No. 2 will be carried out by the DEC-SM consortium, and lot No. 3 by Sinohydro Bureau 16.
