A 110 kV substation will be built in the Naryn region for an industrial park

The Ministry of Energy continues to implement infrastructure projects in the Naryn region. In the Naryn-Kashkar FEZ industrial park in the Kur-Terek district, where the Two Countries – Two Parks initiative is being implemented, construction has begun on four industrial enterprises. To connect them to the grid, a decision has been made to expand power capacity.

The Naryn Electric Grid Company, a branch of JSC ‘NES Kyrgyzstan,’ has revised its initial plan. Instead of the 35 kV Kur-Terek substation, the capital plan for 2025 includes the construction of the 110/35/10 kV Kur-Terek substation and a 10.42 km 110 kV overhead power line.

The project will reduce the load on the existing 110/35/10 kV Naryn-1 substation and provide connections for new facilities, including residential complexes being built with the participation of the State Mortgage Company and the Naryn airport, which is currently undergoing reconstruction.

Construction work began in April 2025 and is currently in full swing. A 400 kVA transformer substation has been installed to provide temporary power to the Kur-Terek site.

Funding is provided by OJSC ‘NES Kyrgyzstan’ NES Kyrgyzstan from its own funds. According to the company, the project is fully supplied with the necessary materials and equipment. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2026.
