Social support in Kyrgyzstan is set to increase 2.4-fold by 2029

In Kyrgyzstan, funding for programmes supporting families and children in difficult circumstances, administered by the Ministry of Labour, is set to rise to 31.4 billion KGS per year by 2029–2031.

The Ministry of Labour has presented the structure of budgetary programmes for 2025–2031.

The key focus is on supporting families and children in difficult life situations, including people with disabilities, elderly citizens and children receiving state benefits.

Funding for this programme will amount to:

  • 2025 – 12.86 billion KGS;
  • 2026 – 15.53 billion KGS;
  • 2027 – 28.89 billion KGS;
  • 2028–2031 – approximately 31.4 billion KGS annually.

Funds are also allocated to developing the foster care system and repatriating Kyrgyz citizens’ children who have been left without parental care abroad.
