The Kyrgyz Ministry of Finance and Switzerland discussed new economic cooperation projects

Ruslan Suynaliev, Kyrgyz Minister of Finance, held a meeting with Pietro Lazzari, a representative of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs. The parties discussed the development of financial and economic cooperation, support for reforms and new joint projects.

On 26 June, Finance Minister Ruslan Suynaliev met with Pietro Lazzari, a representative of the Swiss Economic Department responsible for economic cooperation and development.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation, issues of macroeconomic support, improvements to the public administration system and the implementation of technical assistance programmes.

Particular attention was paid to preparations for the upcoming meetings on Kyrgyzstan’s participation in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank regional elections, as well as to the development of regional cooperation through development centres covering the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia.

Ruslan Suynaliev thanked the Swiss side for its long-standing support for reforms in Kyrgyzstan, emphasising the importance of joint initiatives to strengthen the financial sector, improve budget management and develop economic institutions.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership, expanding practical cooperation and implementing new projects aimed at the sustainable socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan.
