The number of registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan has fallen by 18.2%

As of 1 May 2026, there were 38,700 registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan, which is 18.2% fewer than a year earlier. The registered unemployment rate stood at 1.4% of the labour force. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

According to the Ministry of Labour, 60,200 unemployed citizens seeking work were registered with the state employment service. Compared with the same date last year, their number fell by 10.7%.

The highest number of registered unemployed was recorded in the Osh region – 10,800 people, the Jalal-Abad region – 9,900, and the Batken region – 4,500 people.

Women accounted for 45.9 per cent of the total number of registered unemployed.
