In Kyrgyzstan, food prices have risen by 4.3% since the start of the year, whilst vegetable prices have risen by 14%

Between January and March 2026, consumer prices in Kyrgyzstan rose across all regions of the country. The most significant price increases were seen in fresh vegetables, dairy products, meat and fruit.

At the end of the first quarter, prices for foodstuffs and non-alcoholic drinks had risen by 4.3% compared with December last year. The highest overall rise in consumer prices was recorded in the Osh region – 7.2%.

Since the start of the year, the sharpest price rises have been for fresh vegetables (up 14 per cent), dairy products, cheese and eggs (up 8.9 per cent), fresh fruit (up 7.7 per cent) and fresh meat (up 5.2 per cent). Prices also rose for sugar (by 2.2 per cent), potatoes (by 2.9 per cent) and vegetable oil (by 1.8 per cent).

Meanwhile, prices for bakery products and cereals increased by 0.7 per cent, whilst rice, conversely, fell in price by 0.2 per cent.

Among the regions, the most significant rise in vegetable prices was recorded in Naryn – by 37.7 per cent; for dairy products – in the Osh region (16 per cent); and for fresh meat – in the Talas region (7.7 per cent).

According to the National Statistics Committee, the rise in food prices in the first quarter of 2026 was higher than in the same period last year, when it stood at 3.4 per cent.
