Food accounts for 44% of Kyrgyzstan’s household budgets

In 2025, the average monthly expenditure on food by Kyrgyzstan’s households reached 3,381 som per person. Food accounted for 44% of all household consumer expenditure.

According to the National Statistics Committee, average monthly total household expenditure in 2025 stood at 7,638 som per person, of which 3,381 som was spent on food.

Compared with 2024, expenditure on food rose by 20.4 per cent — from 2,808 to 3,381 som per month. Total household expenditure also increased — from 6,948 to 7,638 som.

The share of food expenditure in the household budget stood at 44 per cent, having risen after falling to 40 per cent in 2024.
