The Ministry of Education and Science, with technical support from the UN World Food Programme, is holding a seminar on ‘Systematic Approach to Improving Education Results (SABER): School Nutrition’.
The workshop aims to evaluate the school nutrition programme based on SABER indicators and parameters, bring stakeholders together and define a course of action.
Ainura Kuseinova in her report at the seminar said that at the end of the 2023-2024 school year, about 600,000 primary school pupils of 2,140 state and municipal schools are covered with hot meals.
According to her, 920 schools are supported by WFP and 900 schools by Mersico.
For 2024, 1 billion 276.6 million KGS is envisaged in the national budget for schoolchildren's nutrition.
