$2.2 million to be allocated for the reconstruction of the Sokuluk state-owned enterprise

The Sokuluk state-owned enterprise will be modernized with support from the World Bank. $1.2 million has been allocated for the renovation of cowsheds and the construction of new milking units. Another $1 million will be allocated to strengthen the farm's material and technical base, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

After the reconstruction, which is scheduled to be completed by spring 2026, 200 head of Swiss cattle will be brought to the renovated premises. This is a Swiss dairy breed known for its high productivity and resistance to climatic conditions.

The enterprise is already actively harvesting feed: over the summer, it collected 2,500 bales of hay and the same amount of straw, 600 tons of silage, and 70 tons of barley. In addition, corn will be harvested on 53 hectares of land in the near future.

In total, the Kyrgyz Breeding Plant, which includes the state-owned enterprise, has sown the following this year:

    • 171 hectares of winter wheat,
    • 98 hectares of spring wheat,
    • 131 hectares of corn,
    • 280 hectares of barley.

According to the ministry, since 2024, the livestock population at the plant has increased by 25%. The ministry believes that the implementation of the project will improve the genetic pool of livestock, ensure stable milk production, and strengthen the country's food security.
