A meeting at the Cabinet discussed pension increases and schools’ readiness for the new academic year

During a regular cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that, from 1 October 2026, it is planned to index the insurance components of pensions and to increase the minimum pension to 8,800 KGS.

According to the Prime Minister, the indexation coefficient has been set at 1.20, i.e. 20 per cent.

“On average, the increase in the insurance component of pensions up to 8,800 KGS will be 141 per cent, whilst for pensions exceeding this amount, the increase in the insurance component will be 120 per cent. As a result of the indexation, the average pension will reach 12,898 KGS, and the average increase will be 1,753 KGS, or 116 per cent,” noted Kasymaliev.

On this matter, the Chairman of the Social Fund, Baktiyar Aliyev, has been instructed to carry out comprehensive preparations regarding all indexation calculations, financial provision and the timely disbursement of payments to pensioners, as well as to organise a large-scale public awareness campaign.

Another important item on the agenda was the readiness of the republic’s general education institutions for the forthcoming academic year. Adylbek Kasymaliev highlighted the need to promptly assess the current state of readiness of schools in all regions of the country.

The Prime Minister instructed that particular attention be paid to sites where construction and renovation work is still ongoing, that risks of delays to completion dates be identified, and that checks be carried out to ensure schools are fully equipped with furniture, teaching equipment and other necessary infrastructure.
