In southern Kyrgyzstan, 3.5 million KGS were invested in the renovation of a fruit drying facility.

A new fruit drying facility has begun operating in the Kadamzhai district of the Batken region. The project was implemented on the initiative of a local entrepreneur with the support of the Masaliyevskiy aimak ayil okmotu, which allocated a separate building. 3.5 million KGS were invested in the renovation and purchase of modern equipment, resulting in the creation of five permanent jobs.

The enterprise purchases fresh plums from local residents at 25 KGS per kilogram, after which the fruit undergoes washing, cleaning, drying and packaging. On average, about 500 kg of finished products are produced here per day, which are sold both on the domestic market and for export. In addition, a machine for processing apples has been installed, which allows the production of dried sliced fruit, which is in demand in the production of compotes.

The main task of the workshop is to develop the processing of agricultural products and expand the markets for local fruit. Raw materials are purchased from farmers in the Masalievsky, Uch-Korgonsky and Maidansky aimaks, which provides additional income for rural farms and stimulates the development of the local economy.
