The National Bank Suspended a Currency Exchange's License and Fined an Illegal Currency Dealer

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has imposed several sanctions at once for violations of foreign exchange legislation.

Specifically, from June 23 to July 7, the license of the currency exchange bureau “Hasanbay Valuta” LLC, located in the city of Nookat in the Osh Region, has been suspended. According to the regulator, the decision was made due to a violation of the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition, a fine of 55,000 KGS was imposed on another currency exchange bureau, also located in the Osh Region, for violating the requirements of the law and the National Bank’s regulatory acts.

Another fine was imposed on a Kyrgyz citizen who exchanged foreign currency in cash without a license from the National Bank. The illegal activity took place in the village of Lugovoye in the Alamudun District of the Chui Region.

The violator was fined 17,500 KGS for illegal currency exchange.
