The National Bank has allowed banks to export undamaged dollars until 1 October

The National Bank has announced a temporary permit for commercial banks to export undamaged US cash outside the country. The relevant resolution of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic was adopted yesterday, 14 July.

The document suspends the 2022 restrictions on the export of undamaged currency until 1 October this year.

This applies exclusively to US dollars in good condition, which banks are entitled to export as part of their operations.

As explained by the National Bank, the measure was taken to ensure the stable circulation of cash and maintain the stability of the financial sector.

At the same time, the regulator reminded banks of their responsibilities, in particular that commercial banks are required to strictly comply with legislation in the field of combating the financing of criminal activities, take into account the risks associated with possible international sanctions and report to the National Bank on each such transaction within two working days.
