03/10/2026, 21:15The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan has once again intervened in the currency market. On March 10, the regulator sold $140 million, conducting its fourth operation since the beginning of the year.
According to the National Bank, $36 million of this amount was sold with settlement on the day of the transaction and another $104 million with settlement on a date other than the transaction date.
All transactions were conducted at an exchange rate of 87.45 KGS per dollar.

Thus, the total volume of currency interventions by the National Bank since the beginning of 2026 has reached $546.55 million.
For comparison, the regulator's activity was significantly lower during the same period last year. At that time, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan carried out only one intervention — on January 13, selling $79 million, of which $40.2 million was settled on the date of the transaction.
Thus, in the first months of 2026, the National Bank has already sold almost seven times more dollars on the currency market than in the same period a year earlier.
