The National Bank has issued a new silver coin to mark the World Nomad Games

On 25 August 2026, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan will put into circulation the ‘Taigan Jarysh’ silver collector’s coin, dedicated to the 6th World Nomad Games.

The coin’s issue is timed to coincide with the Games and aims to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people. ‘Taigan Jarysh’ refers to traditional races involving Kyrgyz greyhounds, which used to be held during folk festivals and are now included in the official programme of the World Nomad Games.

The obverse of the coin depicts three Taigan greyhounds taking part in a race, set against a background of stylised Kyrgyz mountains. Also featured are the name ‘Taigan Jarysh’, the emblem of the World Nomad Games, a national ornament, the face value of 10 KGS, the silver fineness Ag 925 and the coin’s weight of 28.28 grams.

The reverse side bears the inscription ‘Düynölük köchmöder oyundary/World Nomad Games’. Centred on the reverse are the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic and a large image of the head of a taigan – a breed of greyhound indigenous to Kyrgyzstan. The year of issue, 2026, is indicated at the bottom.

The coin is made of 925 silver, measures 38.61 × 38.61 mm and is of Proof quality. Colour printing technology has been used for the design. The mintage is 1,000 copies.

This collector’s coin is legal tender within Kyrgyzstan. However, its price is significantly higher than its face value – it will be sold for 8,900 KGS per coin.

Each coin is housed in an acrylic capsule and a separate case with a certificate of authenticity. It can be purchased at the counters of National Bank branches on working days from 9.00 to 14.00.
