08/24/2026, 15:40In January–June 2026, commercial banks and credit institutions in Kyrgyzstan granted 386 billion 129.1 million KGS in loans to economic entities. The largest share of borrowed funds went to wholesale and retail trade, agriculture and transport.
In the first half of the year, banks and credit institutions granted 101 billion 949.8 million KGS for the trade and repair of cars and motorbikes. Of this amount, 84 billion 30.2 million KGS were provided by commercial banks, a further 11 billion 919.9 million KGS by credit organisations, and 5 billion 861.7 million KGS by banks whose licences had been revoked and which were in the process of being wound up.
Second place was taken by agriculture, forestry and fisheries, with 32 billion 357.1 million KGS. Of this, commercial banks granted 20 billion 67.4 million KGS, banks in the process of liquidation granted 7 billion 624.4 million KGS, and credit institutions granted 12 billion 289.7 million KGS.
Construction came in third place, with 10 billion 534.4 million KGS. Of this amount, 7 billion 401.3 million KGS were granted by commercial banks, 764.4 million KGS by banks whose licences had been revoked, and 2 billion 368.7 million KGS by credit organisations.
Transport and freight storage accounted for 13 billion 927.5 million KGS in loans, whilst manufacturing accounted for 8 billion 553.3 million KGS. Banks and credit institutions allocated 3 billion 165.9 million KGS to the supply of electricity, gas and ferry services.
Meanwhile, 292.4 million KGS were granted to the hotel and restaurant sector in the first half of the year. Mining accounted for just 6.8 million KGS, whilst water supply, waste treatment and recycling accounted for 3.4 million KGS.
Overall, at the end of June, the outstanding balance of loans to economic entities stood at 677 billion 439.4 million KGS, of which 601 billion 966.5 million KGS was held by commercial banks and 75 billion 472.9 million KGS by credit institutions.
