07/14/2026, 16:59The National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan has begun rolling out a structural metadata system. It is intended to make official statistics more understandable, comparable and user-friendly.
From 6 to 10 July, Andrea Bruni, an international expert on structured metadata, was working at the National Statistics Committee. He is providing support in setting up a structured metadata management system in accordance with international standards.
During the visit, experts discussed the development of the digital infrastructure for official statistics, the creation of a unified repository for structural metadata, and the implementation of international models in statistical production.
According to Baktybek Kudaibergenov, Chairman of the National Statistics Committee, improving the metadata system is one of the key areas of statistical modernisation and should enhance the quality and accessibility of official information.
Following the mission, the expert presented recommendations which will be used in the further modernisation of the statistical infrastructure.
