08/01/2026, 09:00On 30 July, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan imposed a fine of 13.6 million KGS on one of the country’s commercial banks.
According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the financial institution had breached legal requirements relating to the organisation of its internal control system. The regulator has not disclosed the name of the bank that was fined.
This is not the only enforcement measure taken by the National Bank against participants in the banking sector in 2026. In the first three months of this year, the regulator issued two warnings and ten directives to commercial banks.
In addition, 13 meetings of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Supervisory Committee were held between January and March. During these meetings, 20 issues relating to the activities of commercial banks were considered.
