Access to state-backed mortgages has been extended to military personnel and law enforcement officers

Members of the armed forces and law enforcement officers will be able to take part in the ‘My Home’ state housing programme, regardless of where they are posted. President Sadyr Zhaparov has signed the relevant decree.

Changes have been made to the procedure for selecting programme participants. Under the new provisions, military personnel and law enforcement officers are entitled to apply for the programme whilst on active duty, regardless of where they are serving.

Applicants must, however, meet all the programme’s established criteria and follow the prescribed application procedure.

Previously, the location of service could be taken into account when determining eligibility for the housing programme. The new provision removes this geographical restriction.

The decree was signed on 29 July 2026 and will come into force ten days from that date.
