This was announced by Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, at a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Migration Policy under the EEC Board.
According to the minister, there is significant movement of citizens within the EAEU for the purpose of employment. However, the lack of coordination between the supply of labour and the needs of the labour market means that workers do not have complete information about employment opportunities and working conditions in the host country. To address these issues, representatives of the EEC, relevant government agencies and non-profit organisations in the field of labour migration and social policy in the Union countries discussed a set of measures.
The meeting participants reviewed the progress of the experiment on introducing mechanisms for registering foreign citizens in Russia, issues of platform employment, and facilitating the organised recruitment of workers using digital tools.
Particular attention was paid to establishing cooperation between the competent authorities of member states through the EAEU Integrated Information System.
‘I hope that the resolution of the issues we are discussing will greatly contribute to the creation of favourable conditions for increasing the mobility of labour migrants from EAEU member states, as well as guaranteeing a decent standard of living and social protection for our citizens,’ Bakhyt Sultanov concluded.
