EEC has authorised the NVG fuel use for self-propelled machines

The Eurasian Economic Commission's (EEC) Board has approved amendments to the standards related to the Customs Union's Technical Regulation ‘On the Safety of Machinery and Equipment’. The amendments allow the use of NGV fuel for the engines of self-propelled machines.

The updated list includes four interstate standards and UN rules establishing requirements for machines and equipment that use gas as fuel. The amendments aim to implement changes to the technical regulations, which will come into force on 23 November 2024. This will allow manufacturers to produce self-propelled machines running on gas fuel.

The amendments were initiated by the EEC Council Decision No. 137 of 24 November 2023 and aimed to develop the use of environmentally friendly fuels in industry.
