08/30/2025, 09:39Trade turnover in Kyrgyzstan for the first seven months of 2025 reached 1 trillion 20 billion KGS, which is 19% more than during the same period last year. These figures were provided by the National Statistics Committee.
The strongest growth was seen in the automotive and spare parts market, where turnover increased by 49.5% to almost 35 billion KGS. Car repair and maintenance services also grew, reaching 4 billion KGS (+35%).
Exact data on the number of transactions has not yet been published, but as of June 1, almost 2 million vehicles were registered in Kyrgyzstan, and from January to June, there were 425,323 car sales transactions. In addition, more than 9,000 permits for tinting were issued to individuals.
The automotive segment is becoming a key driver of trade in 2025, with its growth rate almost five times higher than that of the wholesale market, which traditionally generates the most money in the Kyrgyz Republic. In the first seven months, the wholesale sector's turnover amounted to more than 520 billion KGS, which is half of the entire market.
However, the growth of the wholesale market in 2025 was only 9.3% for the year.
Another major sector is fuel. Sales of gasoline and diesel over seven months reached 115 billion KGS, which is 34% more than a year ago. Retail trade in goods (excluding cars) grew by 31.3% to almost 346 billion KGS.
More than half of Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover (almost 60%) is accounted for by Bishkek— 594 billion KGS. Chu Province ranks second in terms of volume. Trade is particularly active here: the market is worth 155 billion KGS, and the region confidently holds about 15% of the total turnover.
At the same time, the increase compared to the same period was 50 billion KGS, while in Bishkek it grew by 65.1 billion KGS. This indicates that the region has strong prospects.
The Jalal-Abad region increased its turnover by almost 25 billion KGS, and the city of Osh added 14.5 billion KGS to its figures.
