05/03/2026, 17:17Kyrgyzstan plans a phased reduction in the budget for one-off payments to veterans of the Great Patriotic War ahead of 9 May – by 2029, the amount will have fallen by almost two-thirds.
The Kyrgyz Ministry of Labour has provided for a phased reduction in the budget programme for the payment of an annual one-off allowance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War by Victory Day.
This concerns funding for the period from 2025 to 2031: following an actual allocation of 10.47 million soms in 2025, the amount of funding will decrease annually and, according to approved and forecast figures, will stabilise at around 3.77 million soms by 2029.
In 2025, 10.47 million soms were allocated for these payments. As early as 2026, the budget has been approved at 6.02 million soms, and by 2027 it will fall to 4.9 million.
According to the forecast, by 2029 the funding budget will amount to 3.77 million som and will remain at this level until 2031.
