Kumtor’s contributions to the development of the mineral resource base have increased 2.4-fold

Between January and May 2026, Kumtor Gold Company transferred 5.06 billion KGS to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s mineral resource base. This is 2.4 times more than in the same period of 2025, when contributions totalled 2.11 billion KGS.

The increase amounted to almost 2.95 billion KGS. The funds are being channelled towards the development of the Kyrgyz Republic’s mineral resource base in accordance with the requirements of the law. It should be noted that this figure represents 4 per cent of the company’s revenue.

The company had previously reported record payments to the state budget at the start of 2026. ‘Kumtor’ remains one of Kyrgyzstan’s largest taxpayers and a key enterprise in the country’s mining sector.
