05/19/2025, 15:07Today, 19 May 2025, at a meeting of the Budget Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh in the second reading was approved a bill relaxing the ban on plastic products, which is to come into force from 2027.
The law will exclude the ban on PET bottles and plastic food packaging. The reason is that businesses have not had time to readjust to the new requirements, and there are now businesses in the country capable of recycling PET packaging.
We received a comment from the Cabinet of Ministers that it is necessary to conduct an environmental expertise. The Ministry of Natural Resources has conducted it and issued a favourable opinion,’ MP Dastan Bekeshev said.
