The sale of fireworks in Kyrgyzstan has been authorised only in specialist shops

New regulations governing the sale of consumer fireworks have been approved in Kyrgyzstan. Fireworks, firecrackers and other pyrotechnic products may now only be sold through specialist shops. The relevant decree was signed by the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The document also introduces restrictions on noise at night. On weekdays from 22:00 to 07:00, and on weekends and public holidays from 22:00 to 09:00, established sound pressure and noise levels must not be exceeded.

However, the decree does not impose a direct ban on the use of any pyrotechnic products during these hours. The restriction specifically concerns exceeding the permissible noise level.

The new rules have been drawn up to improve fire safety and bring Kyrgyz legislation into line with the Eurasian Economic Union’s technical regulations on the safety of pyrotechnic articles.

At the same time, the government decree of 24 August 2007, which previously regulated the circulation of civilian pyrotechnics, is repealed.
