Almost 27 tons of onions from Uzbekistan were not allowed to cross the state border

To ensure phytosanitary safety, the Osh Department for Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Chemicalization is conducting enhanced phytosanitary control at the state border.

At the end of last week, an attempt was made to import a consignment of onions weighing 26 tons 978 kilograms from Uzbekistan into Kyrgyzstan through the Dostuk checkpoint. Due to the lack of an appropriate phytosanitary certificate and the absence of proper labeling, these products were not allowed to be imported into Kyrgyzstan.

Due to the identified violations of phytosanitary legislation, the cargo was returned to the carrier.
