This dependence is particularly pronounced in exports: more than half of Kyrgyzstan’s exports—56.6%—are destined for EAEU countries. The EAEU’s share of imports was 35.8%.
At the same time, third countries still account for the majority of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade—61.2%. They accounted for 64.2% of imports and 43.4% of exports.
Economists note that this structure reveals a dual dependence of the economy: Kyrgyzstan’s exports are largely oriented toward the EAEU market, while imports continue to flow actively from countries outside the union as well.
