Almost all of the Kyrgyzstan Stock Exchange's turnover in 2025 came from the primary market

Since the beginning of 2025, 96% of the trading volume on the Kyrgyz stock exchange has been accounted for by transactions on the primary market. According to the exchange, of the 49.8 million soms of total turnover in January–April, 47.8 million soms were accounted for by the placement of new securities.

March was the most active month, with KGS 33.5 million worth of securities placed on the primary market, accounting for almost the entire monthly trading volume. In January, this figure was KGS 9 million, and in April, KGS 4.7 million. In February, the primary market's share fell to 50% but remained dominant.

This dynamic indicates high activity among issuers, who use the stock market primarily to raise capital rather than for secondary trading. In the case of share placements, this is directly related to an increase in the companies' authorised capital. When issuing bonds, companies increase their borrowings.

At the same time, the secondary market remains underdeveloped: in four months, turnover in this segment amounted to only 1.95 million soms, or 4% of the total trading volume.
