Kyrgyzstan exported 25 times more to Afghanistan than it imported

According to the results of the first two months of 2025, the volume of exports from the Kyrgyz Republic to Afghanistan amounted to 1.09 billion soms ($12.5 million), while imports from Afghanistan amounted to only 44.2 million soms ($506 thousand). Thus, the trade balance was in favour of Kyrgyzstan.

The largest share of exports was accounted for by petroleum products – almost 25 million litres of motor gasoline worth more than 1 billion soms. Significant supplies of dried legumes (1,970 tonnes), tyres and tyres, nuts, as well as live horses (39 head) were also recorded.

The structure of imports from Afghanistan was dominated by aluminium products (mainly kitchen utensils), as well as trailers, paper packaging and vegetable products. The volume of imported goods is insignificant compared to exports.
