06/30/2026, 11:34On June 29, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan carried out its eighth foreign exchange intervention since the beginning of 2026, which was the largest in terms of volume this year.
According to the regulator’s data, the National Bank sold $222.55 million on the foreign exchange market. Of this amount, $66.3 million was sold on a spot basis, while another $156.25 million was sold on a forward basis.
In terms of volume, this intervention exceeded all of the regulator’s previous operations in 2026. For comparison:
In total, since the beginning of the year, the National Bank has conducted eight interventions, selling $1 billion 286.2 million on the domestic foreign exchange market. Of this amount, $583.5 million was from transactions settled on the trade date, and $702.7 million was from transactions settled on a date other than the trade date.
