“Kyrgyzstroy Service” has lost its status as the general contractor for the residential neighborhoods of the new Osh Market

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has excluded residential neighborhoods from the list of projects for which the state-owned enterprise “Kyrgyzstroy Service,” under the Presidential Administration, has been designated as the general contractor.

The relevant changes were made by a Cabinet resolution on urgent measures for the construction of socio-economic facilities and housing projects.

Initially, “KyrgyzstroyService” was appointed as the general contractor for the design and construction of three projects: the central soccer stadium, the new Osh market with residential neighborhoods, and the bus station complex.

Now, the phrase “with residential neighborhoods” has been removed from the document. This means that the company is no longer the general contractor for the construction of the residential development included in the project for the new Osh Market.

The changes also affected the subsequent transfer of the facility upon completion of construction. While it was previously planned to transfer the shopping complex along with the residential neighborhoods to the state-owned enterprise “National Association of Folk Arts and Crafts ‘Kyyal,’” the resolution now refers only to the new Osh Market.

The document does not specify the reasons for excluding the residential neighborhoods from KyrgyzstroyService’s scope of responsibility. It is also unclear whether the residential construction will be carried out as part of a separate project or whether another general contractor will be appointed for it.

The remaining provisions of the resolution remain unchanged. “Kyrgyzstroy Service” will continue to serve as the general contractor for the construction of the central soccer stadium and the bus station complex.
