Exports of Kyrgyz rice fell by 46%

Between January and May 2026, Kyrgyzstan exported 421.5 tonnes of rice worth $216,400. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of exports fell by 46%.

According to the National Statistics Committee, in January–May 2025, rice exports totalled 781.2 tonnes, worth 50.7 million KGS. In monetary terms, exports fell by 62.7 per cent.

Uzbekistan remains the largest buyer of Kyrgyz rice, with 210.1 tonnes of the product exported there, worth 12.5 million KGS. In second place is
Tajikistan, with 204.2 tonnes worth 6.2 million KGS.

Meanwhile, rice exports to Turkey have ceased entirely this year. A year earlier, Kyrgyzstan had exported 308 tonnes of rice to that country, worth 26.9 million KGS.
