06/26/2026, 11:50Between January and May 2026, the Kyrgyz budget received over 990 million som in fines for traffic offences recorded by the ‘Safe City’ system’s cameras. This is according to data from the Ministry of Finance.
By way of comparison, revenue from fines during the same period last year amounted to 510.3 million KGS.
Thus, over the course of the year, revenue has almost doubled – by 479.7 million KGS. The increase in revenue may be linked both to a rise in the number of violations detected and to improved collection rates for fines.
The ‘Safe City’ system automatically records traffic offences, and the fines collected are paid into the national budget.
