Entrepreneurs received more than 20% of funds under the preferential lending project

Kyrgyzstan continues to implement the project ‘Preferential lending to small and medium-sized enterprises,’ aimed at supporting business, stimulating economic growth, and regional development.

According to data from the Ministry of Finance, as of 11 September, 39 entrepreneurs had already received loans totalling 108.35 million KGS.

It should be noted that the initiative belongs to the Cabinet of Ministers. It was approved by a decree dated 29 April this year and is aimed at providing small and medium-sized businesses, as well as individuals, with preferential and affordable loans.

The main objectives of the project are:

• to promote the development of entrepreneurship;
• to reduce poverty;
• to support the green economy;
• to create new jobs in the regions.

The loans are being implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund OJSC. The total volume of the programme is 500 million KGS.
