In Kyrgyzstan, clothing manufacturing companies earned more than half a billion KGS

Kyrgyzstan has 198 clothing manufacturing enterprises. Two-thirds of all companies are located in the capital — 128 enterprises, with another 38 located in the Chui region.

The remaining 32 enterprises are distributed across the regions: 11 in the Issyk-Kul region, 8 in the Jalal-Abad region, 3 each in the Osh and Naryn regions, and 2 in the Talas region. Even in Osh, the second largest city in the country, there are only five manufacturing enterprises.

In the first half of the year, the total revenue of clothing manufacturers amounted to 2.8 billion KGS, with Bishkek and Chui Province accounting for the lion's share. The gross income of the enterprises reached 2.9 billion KGS, while expenses amounted to 2.4 billion KGS, including the cost of production (1.7 billion KGS), the purchase of raw materials, and operating and administrative costs. At the same time, the net result remained positive and amounted to almost 538 million KGS.

Bishkek and Chui Province accounted for more than 90% of the profit. The capital earned 283.6 million KGS , and Chui Province earned 235.8 million. Against this backdrop, the figures for the regions seem symbolic. The Issyk-Kul factories showed a profit of only 16.3 million KGS, the Jalal-Abad factories — 1.5 million. In Talas — barely 98 thousand. And in the Naryn and Osh regions, enterprises are operating at a loss, with losses amounting to 426 thousand and 5.4 million KGS, respectively.
