Kyrgyz President to participate in Nooruz celebrations in Tajikistan

During an official meeting with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of developing friendly and good relations between the two countries.

He emphasised that Kyrgyzstan always strives to strengthen ties with Tajikistan based on common cultural and historical values, which serve as a basis for further cooperation.

‘Today we are laying the foundation for constructive interaction. The Government Border Commission is confident that the signing of the agreement will be a momentous event that will bring security and stability not only for the two countries, but also for the whole of Central Asia,’ Sadyr Zhaparov said.

The head of state also expressed confidence that the signing of the documents will become a new impetus in relations based on mutual trust, friendship and good neighbourliness.

The President paid special attention to the importance of cultural events and intercultural ties, noting that the upcoming Navruz celebration in Khujand will be a vivid example of traditions that strengthen brotherly relations between the countries.

At the end of the meeting Sadyr Zhaparov said that within the framework of strengthening relations and traditions he will take part in the celebration of Nowruz in Tajikistan.
