02/26/2026, 10:28Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a law amending the law ‘On Medical Insurance of Citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic.’ The document strengthens requirements for disclosure of information in the compulsory medical insurance system.
The amendments enshrine the right of insured citizens to receive reliable information about the types, quality and conditions of medical care. Service providers and insurers are required to provide this information in full.
Medical organisations are also required to keep personalised records of the care provided. In addition, clinics must make publicly available data on the list of services covered by the State Guarantees Programme, their operating hours, and indicators of the accessibility and quality of medical care.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to bring regulatory acts into line with the adopted changes within three months.
The adopted amendments formalise the requirements for transparency in the work of medical organisations and expand the tools for informing citizens in the compulsory medical insurance system.
