527.1 million KGS to be invested in Osh power grid

In 2026, 527.1 million KGS will be allocated to the Osh power grid. Funding will be provided by OJSC ‘NESK’. The main focus is on modernising and technically re-equipping the networks ahead of the autumn-winter period of 2026-2027.

The largest item of expenditure — 243.0 million KGS — is earmarked for equipment upgrades. It is planned to replace 110 kV and 35 kV circuit breakers — four sets of each type, install and replace 44 10 kV switchgear cells, and replace 27.9 km of 35 kV line wires with wires with greater bandwidth.

Additionally, it is planned to install two sets of coupling capacitors, upgrade various types of transformer substations — a total of more than 40 pieces of equipment — and commission engineering protection systems at three facilities.

103.2 million KGS will be allocated for the reconstruction and expansion of networks. In particular, the 35 kV Osh-5 – Osh-1 cable line with a length of 6.41 km will be upgraded, more than 100 km of 6–10 kV and 0.4 kV lines will be reconstructed, and low-voltage cable lines will be modernised.

The projects are aimed at increasing network capacity and reducing the number of emergency outages in a region with high seasonal loads. According to energy experts, comprehensive modernisation should reduce infrastructure wear and tear and stabilise energy supply amid growing consumption.
