The Secretary-General noted that Kyrgyzstan has a special place in Central Asia in the mountain initiatives implementation and has a significant potential to take a leading position in renewable energy and climate projects.
The President reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitment to sustainable development goals, emphasizing people-centred policies. He informed about the launch of the second voluntary national review of the SDGs, which is aimed at further developing the country and achieving the ambitious goal of becoming one of the 30 best countries in the world by 2030.
The Head of State outlined climate challenges for the region, such as melting glaciers and dwindling water resources. He called to support the establishment of the UN Regional Center for Energy Efficiency and suggested the mechanism of public debt for green projects exchange, which would be a significant contribution to the combat against climate change.
