The president said he would not spare even his relatives in the fight against corruption

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov said he would not show leniency to those involved in corruption, even if they were his close relatives. He made this statement at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to the head of state, the fight against corruption and organized crime is a fundamental position of the authorities.

“There is no place for corruption. From the very beginning, we have opposed corruption and organized crime. You know this well. We will not spare anyone. Even if it is my brother, I will not spare him either,” Zhaparov said.

At the same time, he stressed that his relatives do not work in the civil service and do not interact with state institutions.

“My brothers and children do not work in the civil service and do not conduct business with state structures. Therefore, my conscience is clear,” the president noted.

Zaparov also said that corrupt officials pose a greater threat to the state than murderers.

“If a criminal kills one person, a corrupt official destroys an entire state, kills the state,” he said.

The president called on lawmakers to help fight corruption and openly report cases of abuse by government officials. According to him, parliament should not be afraid to raise such issues.

“This will be your help to me. Do not be afraid of anyone. I will be on your side and protect you,” the head of state added.
