Work continues on the reconstruction of the Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz motorway

Work has begun on the reconstruction of the fourth stage of the Suusamyr-Talas-Taraz motorway, with the contractor providing the necessary equipment for road construction.

As part of the ongoing work, the road shoulders are being levelled and widened, water pipes are being relocated and concrete power line supports are being dismantled.

More than 80 units of specialised equipment (the number of workers and equipment is increasing daily) and 65 workers are involved in the project. As part of the project, two asphalt concrete plants, one concrete plant and two crushed stone crushing plants are being installed.

The total length of the road being reconstructed is 93 kilometres. It starts from the city of Talas and reaches the Kichi-Kapka checkpoint. Construction work will be completed in 2025-2028. The warranty period for the project is five years.

The project includes the reconstruction of six bridges, one overpass, sidewalks in populated areas, and lighting. The current technical category of the road will be upgraded to technical category II.
