01/30/2026, 17:36A representative from Kyrgyzstan won an award at the CECECO Clean Energy Hackathon 2026 international competition, dedicated to the development of digital solutions in the field of clean energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable development of the industry.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the project "Energy Transparency Center: Digital Platform for Open Energy Data for CECECO Countries,“ prepared by Altynbek Bakasov, deputy head of the electricity balance and losses department at Kyrgyz Energy Settlement Center JSC, was awarded the special nomination ”Best Technical Solution."
The award ceremony took place on January 26 at ADA University in Baku as part of the events dedicated to International Clean Energy Day, established by the UN General Assembly.
The competition featured about 200 projects submitted by young professionals and students aged 16 to 35 from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Participants developed solutions in the fields of energy digitalization, analytics, energy efficiency, and energy policy formation.
The Kyrgyz specialist's project was highly praised by the jury for its technological sophistication and practical applicability. Altynbek Bakasov was the only representative of Kyrgyzstan to receive an award at the end of the hackathon.
The Ministry of Energy noted that the success at the CECECO Clean Energy Hackathon 2026 confirms the high potential of domestic specialists and the practical significance of digital solutions for modernizing the country's energy sector.
