Kyrgyzstan’s industry has grown thanks to the processing and raw materials sectors

The growth in industrial production in Kyrgyzstan has been driven by a number of sectors that have seen a significant increase in output.

The most notable growth was recorded in the wood and paper products sector, as well as in printing – output increased by 1.8 times. Manufacturers of rubber and plastic products and building materials also made a significant contribution, with growth of 1.7 times.

The chemical industry increased output by 38.9%, and vehicle manufacturing by 36.1%. Mineral extraction grew by 37.7%, which also became one of the sector’s key drivers.

In the processing segment, there was a 21.1% increase in the production of refined petroleum products. The food industry, including beverages and tobacco products, increased output by 13.6%.

Less pronounced but stable growth was observed in the pharmaceutical sector – up 8.9% – as well as in the production of basic metals and fabricated metal products – growth stood at 6.2%.

Thus, the industrial sector is demonstrating mixed but steady growth, driven by the processing and raw materials sectors.
