Kyrgyzstan has introduced excise duties on certain non-alcoholic drinks for children

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan has issued a reminder regarding the entry into force of new requirements for certain types of non-alcoholic products registered as baby food.

From 1 January 2026, such drinks will be subject to mandatory excise duty and must be labelled with excise stamps. This applies to products holding a certificate of state registration as baby food and classified under HS code 2202.

The regulation was approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution dated 22 February 2022.

Since the start of the year, the production and import of these products without excise stamps have been prohibited. However, a transition period has been established for the sale of unmarked stock, lasting until 1 May 2026.

The tax authorities have urged manufacturers, importers and sellers of baby food to comply with the requirements of the law. Penalties will be imposed if unmarked products are found.
