Since 2021, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund has channelled more than $850 million into Kyrgyzstan’s economy. This was announced by Artem Novikov, head of the RKDF, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship and Competition.
Taking into account funding from the previous period, the total amount of funds channelled by the fund into the country’s economy has exceeded $1.2 billion.
During this time, the RKDF’s loan portfolio has grown from $212 million at the start of 2021 to $600 million today — almost threefold.
At the same time, the fund has reduced the proportion of non-performing assets from 22 per cent in 2021 to 1.5 per cent at present. According to Novikov, the average rate of non-performing assets in the banking sector stands at around 10 per cent.
The number of projects financed by the fund has reached 3,829. Around 200 of these are large-scale projects, whilst the remainder are being implemented in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector via commercial banks.
The volume of annual funding is also growing. In 2023, the RKFR channelled $160 million into the economy, and in 2024, $236 million. By the end of 2026, the fund plans to invest around $305 million.
