From 2026, Kyrgyzstan will introduce a new allowance for residents of high-altitude areas

From January 1, 2026, Kyrgyzstan will begin paying a monthly allowance called “biik tooluu aimaktardyn zhashoochularyna komok.” This was reported by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The payments will be provided to families living in high-altitude, remote, and border settlements with special status. The allowance is granted for the third and each subsequent child from birth until they reach the age of three. The amount of the payment will be 3,000 KGS.

The main condition is permanent residence in the specified areas. The socio-economic situation of the family will not be taken into account, and the regional coefficient will not be applied.

To implement the law, the Ministry of Labor has prepared a draft regulatory legal act, which has already been sent to the Presidential Administration for consideration.

The ministry notes that it is continuing to work on expanding social support measures and improving the well-being of residents in all regions of the country.
