Addressing the participants, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the rapid growth of interest in digital assets in the country.
"In Kyrgyzstan, interest in cryptocurrency is growing every year, and blockchain technologies and digital assets, previously understood only by specialists, are now becoming the basis of a new financial system," - said the President.
The head of state recalled that back in 2022 the country adopted the Law "On Virtual Assets", which formed the legal basis for the issuance, storage and circulation of digital assets The move has built confidence not only within the country, but also among international partners.
"We must continue to work on regulation, technical support and educational initiatives," he said.
According to Sadyr Zhaparov, the established Council will coordinate government policy in the field of virtual assets and integrate blockchain technologies into key sectors - from public administration to the financial sector The Council's priorities include:
improving financial literacy of the population
launching educational programs on the digital economy
cybersecurity and protection of users from fraud
implementation of blockchain in public administration to ensure transparency and reduce bureaucracy
At the meeting, new members were added to the Council - Changpeng Zhao, founder of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, and Kirill Khomyakov, Binance's regional head for Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa.
