02/18/2026, 15:07On 18 February, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received a delegation from the European Parliament led by Giuseppina Princi, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with Central Asian Countries. The meeting was attended by representatives from Italy, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Finland.
Key areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed, including strengthening interparliamentary cooperation, protecting human rights and ensuring freedom of speech. The head of state noted that cooperation with the European Union is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy and confirmed his readiness to develop partnerships, including in the economic sphere.
Particular attention was paid to interparliamentary dialogue as a tool for direct exchange of views on issues of internal development, foreign policy and the regional agenda. Members of the European Parliament noted Kyrgyzstan's progress in socio-economic development and modernisation of public administration.
The parties discussed opportunities for deepening educational and professional cooperation, including student exchanges and youth training programmes.
Following the meeting, the President and the delegation expressed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and develop cooperation in priority areas of mutual economic interest.
