Sadyr Japarov discussed the development of bilateral relations with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament

On 20 October in Bishkek, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, received the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sagiba Gafarova, who had arrived in the country on an official visit. The parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to trade and economic ties, investment, energy and transport. Sadyr Zhaparov emphasised the allied nature of relations between the two countries and the importance of implementing previously reached agreements.

The parties also highlighted the significance of the Treaty on Allied Relations, signed during the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Kyrgyzstan in July 2026.

Sagiba Gafarova conveyed greetings and best wishes from Ilham Aliyev to Sadyr Zhaparov and the people of Kyrgyzstan. She also noted the development of bilateral ties, including inter-parliamentary cooperation, and expressed an interest in further strengthening them.
